BCCI ethics officer D K Jain on Tuesday found Board employee Mayank Parikh guilty of conflict of interest and asked him to choose between his role in the BCCI and his association with six cricket clubs in Mumbai. The erstwhile Committee of Administrators and former Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association life member Sanjeev Gupta had filed a conflict of interest complaint against Parikh last year for owning six clubs/academies in Mumbai.
Former Supreme Court judge D K Jain will continue as BCCI's ethics officer and ombudsman after getting a one-year extension. Jain was appointed by the Supreme Court in February 2019 as BCCI's first ever ombudsman. He was later given the additional role of ethics officer.
Dravid has already given a reply and defended himself saying he has taken leave of absence from employers India Cements and he has nothing to do with the Chennai Super Kings.
'Let BCCI come up with a formal (written) offer and I will definitely consider it'
Kapilc Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy have been questioned for conflict of interest.
Earlier this month, former Supreme Court judge Jain had asked Dravid to respond in writing after receiving a complaint from Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) life member Sanjeev Gupta.
A livid Kapil Dev said he will not go to Mumbai and called the conflict of interest allegations against him and the CAC 'a publicity stunt'. In the complaint filed by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) life member Sanjeev Gupta, it has been claimed that Kapil and Anshuman Gaekwad don multiple cricketing roles.
